Why Wellful?

Wellfulness refers to the "balanced and centered state of being of the physical, spiritual, emotional, social and psychological dimensions of an individual or group".



To me, to be wellful means that a person understands their body and what it needs to be healthiest. Each one of us is unique, and so are our health needs. From exercise, relationships, spiritual needs, nutrition, sleep, medications, and much more...each of us has varying needs.


We are all searching for balance in life, and that is where wellfulness is most important. In all things we do, we need balance. For example, it is not healthy to work out 12 hours every day. Nor is it healthy to consume 20 cookies every day. However, moving our bodies regularly, while also indulging in a cookie from time to time is extremely healthy. See, balance.



At Wellful Psychiatry, we hope to help people achieve balance in life in multiple ways. Oftentimes, medications are needed to reach that goal. There is no shame in taking medications for mental health reasons if it helps a person achieve the balance they desire. But hey, don't get mad if we also prescribe daily movement, journaling, or other self-care exercises along with medications. We just want to help you become the best version of you possible.
